Highway Review:
After crossing the Canadian River, Interstate 44, U.S. 62, and OK 37 enter Cleveland County and Oklahoma City. The highway remains four lanes to Interstate 240. Until then, interchanges are present at each mile, with Exit 109 (S.W. 149th St.), Exit 110 (OK 37 East/S.W. 134th St.), Exit 111 (S.E. 119th St.), Exit 112 (S.E. 104th St.), Exit 113 (S.E. 89th St.), and Exit 114 (S.E. 74th St.). Exit 115 serves Interstate 240 East.

Then the interstate widens to eight lanes as Interstate 44 merges onto the western end of Interstate 240. The left lane becomes an exit-only lane to OK 152 West and Airport Rd. (Exit 116B), and the highway narrows to six lanes after Exit 117A (S.E. 44th St.). The two exits following that serve S.W. 29th St. (old OK 152), and S.W. 15th St.

Exits 120A-B are for Interstate 40. At the stack interchange (that is, the Oklahoma version of a stack), Interstate 44 has two lanes that go through in each direction, as both the far left and far right lanes become exit-only for Interstate 40. Just north of Interstate 40 lies the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds, accessed from Exit 121A (N.E. 10th St.). At Exit 123B (OK 66 West), Interstate 44 through traffic must merge into the far right lane to continue, otherwise, they will end up on the Lake Hefner Parkway (OK 74). After the OK 66 interchange, Interstate 44 is actually going east-west for the first time since it began 137 miles south of here in Wichita Falls, Texas!

Interstate 44 is six lanes wide throughout this section between OK 74 and Interstate 35. Interchanges include N. May Ave. (Exit 124), N. Penn Ave. (Exit 125A), Classen Blvd. (Exit 125B), OK 3A (Exit 125C), Western Ave. (Exit 126), Interstate 235/U.S. 77 (Exit 127), Lincoln Blvd. (Exit 128A), Kelley Ave. (Exit 128B), and M.L. King Ave. (Exit 129). Interstate 35 is located at Exit 130, and Interstate 44 becomes duplexed for its next five miles.

Interstate 35 exit numbers take over on the Interstate 35/44 duplex. The highway is six lanes wide throughout the duplex. Interchanges are located at Exit 134 (Wilshire Blvd.), Exit 135 (Britton Rd.), Exit 136 (Hefner Rd.), and Exit 137 (N.E. 122nd St.). Interstate 44 leaves Interstate 35 at Exit 138A, and goes onto the Turner Turnpike, which has a speed limit of 75 as it heads towards Oklahoma's second largest city, Tulsa.
