Highway Review:
With only 3.6 miles in far south-central Oklahoma, OK 79 isn't too major of a highway in the Sooner State. However, it does provide an alternative way for traffic to get from U.S. 70 just west Waurika to Wichita Falls, Texas. The highway begins as Texas 79 in Throckmorton, Texas at U.S. 183/283. Twenty-seven miles northeast of Wichita Falls, the highway enters Oklahoma, and the number remains the same. Just a couple minutes after entering Oklahoma, the highway finds its end just west of Waurika at U.S. 70.

SOUTHERN TERMINUS
Texas State Line, continues as TX 79

NORTHERN TERMINUS
